There is still room to register.  There will be registration available on Saturday from 5-8, and Sunday morning from 7-9:30.  The race is happening rain or shine.  Bring our rain gear because it looks like its going to be a wet one again.

April 30th, 2009 by Rich

If you are willing and able to volunteer for race day we could use help under the tent for registration and then to help run the finish.  You could also be out on the course at an aid station or marshalling a road crossing.  Interested?  Email the shop and let us know what you can help out with.  Food, beer, and swag on offer……

Maximus 20 Mile (ish) Map

April 24th, 2009 by Rich

All of the 10 mile loop plus a traverse south on Piney Ridge using the rocky ATV network, followed by a descent to Log Sled via Bear Hill.  Jump across Log Sled and down to paved road (233).  Across 233 and into the Nowhere Loop.  Out to Woodrow and up to yellow gate and back into the Nowhere Loop working your way over to the Turkey Management Area, down to the 100 Year Bridge and back on the Nowhere Loop Trails to the Mudbank @ 233.  Across 233 to the Community Service cutoff to Log Sled and the final climb to the finish.   Tidy little loop it is…..

(I know the map doesn’t show the jump out to Woodrow but we made it before all the rain and it is mighty wet in the lower Nowhere Loop along the creek so we’re heading out to the road.  You should thank us…..)

Maximus Loops Unveiled !!!

April 15th, 2009 by Rich

We’ve been hard at work on the Maximus loops for 2009 and have finalized the course.  We will once again present three different offerings, a 10-Miler, a 20-Miler, and a 40-Miler.  The distances were recorded with differential GPS technology to sub meter accuracy and further refined with post processing and are, as such, GUARANTEED to be precise (not an actual guarantee….)  The 11.5 mile loop remains essentially unchanged which means the first 12 or so miles for the 18-Miler and 42-Miler will remain the same as last year.  With me so far?  Start/Finish at the Bendersville Lot above Pine Grove Furnace State Park.  Same as it ever was. More to follow, including crude charcoal-etched giant cave sloth skin maps (see post below) ….collect all three.
